Hongkong 2014

Everyday - April 27, 2014

So i went on a short holiday with my parents to Hong Kong and i just got back.

It was a great impromptu trip and i got so many things which is totally awesome. Didn’t manage to get clothing items because they were quite pricey and their fashion trend was kinda different from what you see in Singapore. But i did make 2 cheeky purchases that made the trip worthwhile. The moment we landed, we took a train to the city and transferred train and alighted at Wan Chai. We needed our dim sum fix and found ourselves stepping into this local restaurant which was flooded with people. It was a huge restaurant and every table was packed, we kinda figured that the food was really good, so we decided to give it a go too!
No regrets.
So delicious, and every bite was fresh. Love it.

However towards the last 3 days of the trip, it was drizzling and pouring slightly that it was kinda inconvenient to get around because everyone was squeezing to walk under the shelters. It was also an advantage because the shopping streets like Ladies Market and Flower Market were empty and business was poor, so we managed to bargain down a whole lot for the stuff we wanted!

Found the nicest printed totebag ever in Ladies Market and i got so excited. I went to the stall owner and asked for the price. She told me “140HKD” which was about 22SGD. I felt it was a little expensive, and i bargained it down to 60HKD. The trick is to act uninterested and walk off. Here’s how the conversation went:
Boss: 120HKD ok?
Me: it’s ok. 60HKD i buy.
Boss: aiya, 100HKD la. lowest.
Me: oh, then never mind. *walks away*

Boss: — Long pause — , ok la ok la come back. 60HKD.

SCORE. I was telling my mum how excited i was because the bag looked so good in real!
Check out my new kicks that are in the prettiest combination of colors ever!
A must have everytime we’re in Hong Kong! Fishball Noodles. It’s different from Singapore’s, but yummy.
