One of my last few days in London before heading home for the summer was spent out in the wilderness. Mich and I booked an impromptu trip out of london and trained down to (omg, i forgot the name of the place -.-). So anyway, we didn’t book a car as we had limited budget, we took a train then a cab to the place for our 3 day farm stay!
It was super chill and we were blessed with really good weather and clear sunny skies when we got there. The owner of the farm was incredibly friendly. We’ve stayed in the same farm, in different locations before, but I must say, this one was great! Our tentage was situated relatively near the honesty shop (where you can get / buy supplies) which meant that we had easy access to charging points, and we were quite close to the toilets as well! (plus points for convenience and cleanliness of the washroom!)
Given that there were only 4 visitors and one dog at the farm during the period of our stay, it was pretty quiet and peaceful the entire time. We woke up early the next day to prepare and followed the owner of the farm for a tour around the whole area. At the end of the route, she gave us the option of exploring the area on our own, so we could head off from there. I really wanted to check out the viewing point (photo below), so we decided to go our own way.
Of course of course, it looks really easy to just get up there, but little did we know that the “path” leading up to the viewpoint was lined with stinging nettles. URGH. As soon as we trudged out of the path, we felt a stinging and slightly painful sensation on our calves and thighs (cheers, to wearing shorts). The itch grew and soon enough, it turned into a pinkish bumpy mess on our legs. 🙁 We googled on how to get rid of the itch, and learnt that aloe vera gel would help. Because we didn’t have any, we could only wait till we get back home 🙁
Because we didn’t have a car, it was inconvenient for us to get around. So we spent all that time just hanging out in the farm, lounging on the beach chairs listening to music and doing some reading while overlooking the fields in front of us filled with grazing sheeps that looked way too bored.
Sadly, that was the last trip with Mich because she’s heading back to SG for good already, though I wished we did more travelling together. Oh, good times good times.
Since I’m at it, I would just like to say thanks for being such an awesome housemate. I believe our friendship has grown over the past year, and I am extremely sad that we no longer would be living under the same roof. But, all the trips and adventures with you had been an absolute blast! ❤️
