The Line @ Shangri-la

Everyday - August 5, 2014

Had a feast at The Line – Shangri-La over the weekend to celebrate my uncle’s birthday, and it was seriously the best buffet i have ever been to! The variety was good, food was fresh, and was constantly being replenished!

The oysters were very fresh and succulent! I love my oysters with a splash of lemon and a dash of tobasco sauce! *slurps* Part of the seafood section also included fresh crabs, mussels, clams, and prawns.

The Malay section of the food was so damn good! Every satay was literally grilled to perfection. Meat was tender and full of flavour. Love it. Had the beef and chicken satay accompanied with peanut sauce and chilli.

The Indian section included food items like the prata, mutton curry, briyani.

They have a noodle station where they have Lobster laksa, chicken broth and prawn mee. The laksa gravy was so good! and every bowl came with a piece of lobster claw. Love how generous they are with the food.

Then of course, there is the dessert section. They have 4 counters of desserts. I don’t even know what to think of it. SO MUCH FOOD. SO LITTLE STOMACH SPACE.

They have freshly baked macarons, a whole range of yummy cakes, mousse, puddings, pastries etc. The ice cream and ice kachang was at another counter on it’s own, and they have a drinks counter where they had someone serving Teh Tarik, Bandung, Brewed flavoured coffee and more.

Best of all, they had a special station outside for free flow of durians!!!!!! My fav. They provided lychee, mangosteen and jambu to some what clear off the heatiness from the durians.

The buffet costs $80 ++ per person, and currently they do have a credit card promotion for all POSB/ DBS cardholders to get 15% off the total bill excluding GST. For a once in a while feast, i thought it was pretty worth it! The ambience in the restaurant’s quite good too, not too crowded, and not too noisy.
On a unrelated side note, i managed to get a photo with Rebecca Lim who happened to be dining there too that night!
